The Vision Lab - Episode 42
How to use event-based vision for predictive maintenanceor surface defects
Predictive maintenance without vibration sensors?
Vibration measurements can reveal changes in machinery before they result in costly downtime. But conventional vibration sensors need physical contact with the equipment – and monitoring several points can require several sensors.
Event-based vision offers a different approach.
By detecting only changes in the scene, an event-based camera can measure very fast movements with microsecond precision and monitor several points simultaneously – without physical contact.
In this episode of The Vision Lab, we demonstrate how event-based vision can be used to measure vibration frequencies and identify changes that may indicate a developing machine fault.
