Supporting research in vision technology and self-management
The JLI vision Foundation was established in 2025 to support research and development of computer vision technology as well as research about self-managing companies.
The founder and CEO of JLI vision, Jørgen Læsssøe, is the man behind the foundation. His interest in vision technology and organizational culture has been a driving force for Jørgen Læsssøe, and since he started JLI vision in 1985, he has tried to push the boundaries of both areas.
The foundation is a way to expand and continue this work, also in the future.
The foundation aims to award grants to new projects every year.
Prof. Rasmus Reinhold Paulsen, DTU
Professor Rasmus Reinhold Paulsen from DTU receives a grant of DKK 500.000. The grant will be used to develop and updated version of DTU's course in image analysis, which 500 students attend each year.
The goal is to develop a practice-oriented course based on cases and data from vision companies to qualify the engineers of tomorrow.
Prof. Steen Thomsen, CBS
Professor Steen Thomsen from Copenhagen Business School (CBS) receives a grant of DKK 500.000 for a research project about self-managing companies.
The goal of the project will, among other things, be to explore why some companies succeed with implementing self-management and others don't.
“At JLI vision, we have always gone after the tasks that others could not solve, so we can push the boundaries of what can be done with vision technology. Through the foundation, we now have a new opportunity to support projects that can renew the field and drive innovation.”
