JLI vision enters into strategic partnership with WINTERSTEIGER to introduce NativeVision

JLI vision has entered into a strategic partnership with the international machinery engineering
group WINTERSTEIGER Solutions GmbH to develop production lines with integrated visual quality control for wood
and composite production.

“WINTERSTEIGER stands for high quality and is a leading company in the wood industry with
extensive experience; combined with our expertise in vision technology, we can work together to
develop innovative solutions that will benefit both us and our customers,” says Jan Dall Christensen,
co-owner of JLI vision.

In wood and composite manufacturing today, the production and quality control process is often
fragmented: one supplier provides the machine, a second handles inspection, and a third analyzes
the data.

Through this new partnership, JLI vision and WINTERSTEIGER are changing that by integrating vision-
based quality control systems directly into the production lines - a joint solution called NativeVision.

“We chose to partner with JLI vision for two reasons. First, they bring more than 40 years of machine
vision experience, including in the pharmaceutical and glass industries, where a single missed defect
can trigger a recall. Second, their technology isn’t a closed system: it works with the cameras,
lighting, and sensors each line needs, so it becomes part of our machines instead of being bolted on.
They see defects. We know wood. That combination is NativeVision,” says Andreas Doubrava,
Managing Director, WINTERSTEIGER Solutions.

The strategic partnership entails WINTERSTEIGER acquiring a minority stake in JLI vision, and according to Jan Dall Christensen, this should be seen as a clear signal that both parties are committed to the partnership.

“It’s more of a marriage than just a collaboration agreement, and it demonstrates a mutual
commitment at a higher level. We’re really looking forward to sharing the knowledge each of us
brings to the table so that together we can create something greater,” he says.

JLI vision and WINTERSTEiGER are already working together on customer projects, and NativeVision
has been tested on products for a number of customers and is ready for implementation.
