Integrated quality control for wood and composites
Together, JLI vision and WINTERSTEIGER have developed NativeVision, the first system to natively integrate AI-based quality control into production lines for wood and composites.
From add-on to integrated intelligence
In conventional wood and composite manufacturing, the production and quality control process is fragmented: one supplier provides the machine, a second handles inspection, and a third analyzes the data.
With cobbled systems, responsibility is unclear when quality defects occur, and the path from detection to decision to action becomes too long and winding.
With NativeVision, WINTERSTEIGER Solutions GmbH and JLI vision change that picture. It is the first system to natively integrate AI-based quality control into production lines for wood and composites - no add-ons, no third-party interfaces, no shared responsibility.
The result: Production lines that not only detect defects but also respond to them immediately.

A system that takes action
At the heart of NativeVision is the complete integration of the machine and machine vision into a single system. The scanner isn't attached to the machine; it is the machine.
Processing takes place directly at the production site: without reliance on the cloud, without external interfaces, and without shared system responsibility among suppliers. AI algorithms classify defects in real time while the line is running, at a feed rate of 30–80 m/min.
NativeVision doesn't just sound an alarm - it takes action. As soon as it detects a defect, the system directly instructs the production line to divert the product, reclassify it, or issue a repair order. All within the same production cycle without any manual intervention.
