Vision Day - Advanced

Vision Day is where we share the innovations and breakthroughs that happen when +30 engineers are at work.
In this advanced version of Vision Day, we go beyond the topics covered previously and focus on newer and more advanced areas within machine vision, including selected projects and technologies

Vision Day April 2025

At Vision Day, you can hear experts from JLI share insights on how far new technologies have come and what we at JLI are working on right now to bring the benefits of these technologies to our customers.

We aim to equip you with the ability to assess the current opportunities within vision technology and get a glimpse into what the near future brings.

You'll have direct access to our experts as we open our doors, showcasing technology through setups and presentations in a range of exciting areas.

What you will learn about at Vision Day

xray

X-ray | Look Deeper: How to See Inside Products

X-ray vision inspection enables inspection of what cannot be seen with traditional camera-based systems. By combining X-ray imaging with advanced vision technology, we can help customers detect hidden defects, verify critical features, and improve quality control in production

Advanced Lighting Meets AI in Machine Vision

Combining advanced lighting with AI opens new possibilities in machine vision. By using light, camera angles, and image data strategically, even small variations in surface, geometry, and finish can be made visible. For example, inspection of raw and painted wood profiles can be moved earlier in the production flow, helping detect defects sooner, reduce waste, and ensure more consistent quality.

ai_agents

Power and pitfalls of AI agents

AI agents are opening new possibilities in vision technology by helping systems move beyond image analysis to more intelligent decision-making, workflow automation, and adaptive quality control. However, when applied in industrial vision, it is essential to understand both the potential and the pitfalls.

vlm_annotation

Vision Language Models for Annotation

Vision Language Models can support faster and more flexible image annotation by combining visual understanding with natural language input. This can help reduce manual labeling effort, accelerate dataset creation, and improve the training foundation.

advanced_lighting

Advanced lighting for curved, shiny surfaces

Advanced lighting makes it possible to inspect curved and shiny surfaces with greater stability and accuracy. By controlling reflections, glare, and contrast, we can reveal the right surface features and improve the reliability of automated vision inspection.

testscanner_wood

Flexible test scanner

A flexible scanner setup makes it possible to inspect many different products, dimensions, and geometries with the same vision platform.By adapting lighting, camera angles, and AI-based analysis, the scanner can be used across a wide range of wood products — from boards and profiles to flooring and painted components.

smart_camera_cloud

Smart cameras in the cloud - Cognex OneVision

Cloud-connected smart cameras are changing how AI-based vision applications are developed, deployed, and scaled across production environments. Platforms such as Cognex OneVision make it easier to standardize solutions across lines and sites without compromising speed, stability, or control in production.

Practicalities

Place: JLI vision A/S, Ellekær 9, 2670 Herlev

Time: October 7th from 8.45 to 12.30

Language: English

Concept: Small groups rotate between 7 booths, each demonstrating a specific technology. A short 15-minute intro is given, and then the group moves to the next booth. After the last booth, everyone is free to revisit the booths that they find interesting and talk to the experts.
