In this episode of The Vision Lab, Sales Manager, Henrik Birk explains how you can automate a challenging aesthetic inspection task that would normally require a trained human eye and a lot of experience - like determining that this resin pocket is okay to pass quality control, and this one isn’t?

For these kinds of difficult aesthetic inspection tasks, we use machine learning - or rather deep learning - on top of a combination of traditional machine vision and 3D machine vision.

 

 

What would it mean for your production line if you could go from 70-80 percent accuracy in identifying defects to 98 percent? That is the difference between manual and automated inspection of aesthetic qualities on products in the wood industry.
